YOU'VE ALL SEEN THIS PICTURE MANY MANY MANY TIMES!
Anyway...I'd been a huge fan of Dark Shadows for over five years before I actually made the DS pilgrimage out to Newport, RI one day in the summer of 2001. Actually, that's not true. I first saw "Collinwood", aka Seaview Terrace, aka The Carey Mansion, in the winter of 1999 in the middle of the night, so I couldn't see much of anything. I drove by it many times in 1999, with my exboyfriend and all his friends, because he was from Rhode Island, and when we got bored we would drive to Newport for the hell of it. LOL. ANYWAY I saw Collinwood in the daylight for the first time in 2001, when my mom and I missed the Block Island Ferry, got a flat tire, and decided to go out to Newport.
